Belcher And Parsons Earn NSCA All-American Athlete Award Honors

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Fitchburg State senior goalkeeper Marguerite Belcher (Quincy, Mass.) of the women's lacrosse team and classmate Tommy Parsons (Peabody, Mass.) of the baseball team were recently honored by the National Strength And Conditioning Association (NSCA) as recipients of the 2019 All-American Athlete Award as announced by the NSCA earlier this week.

This season, Belcher has posted 69 saves with a 14.57 goals against average and a .463 save percentage in six games for the Green and Gold, while recently moving into second place on the Falcons all-time career saves (342) and wins (20) list.

Thus far, Parsons has registered an ERA of 6.14 with 11 strikeout in 7.1 innings of work over two starts in the early going for the Falcons, while recently moving into third place on the Fitchburg State Baseball all-time career strikeouts list with 128.

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is an international nonprofit professional association founded in 1978 and is dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning profession around the word. The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team (1-5) returns to action this evening as it hosts the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth in non-conference action, starting at 6:00 PM, while the Fitchburg State baseball team (8-5) returns to the diamond on Friday as it hosts the Buccaneers of Mass. Maritime Academy in MASCAC action from the New England Baseball Complex at 3:30 PM.
