Amanda Burns

 

2022 Inductee - 2012 Graduate 

Amanda Burns was a member of the Fitchburg State Women's Lacrosse Team. Over her career, Amanda ranks second all-time in goals scored with 182, fifth in assists at 55, second in points, with 235, sixth in groundballs (129), fourth in draw controls (116) and seventh in caused turnovers (58). In addition, Burns was named the 2009 New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Rookie of the Year as well as being a 3x NEWLA All-Conference First Team Honoree.

After college, Amanda used her lacrosse knowledge and leadership experience to coach at Emerson College in Boston. At the same time, she was moving up in the ranks at Commonwealth Lacrosse as store manager. There she sold lacrosse gear and strung sticks for all the local high school and college teams. Needless to say, lacrosse was and still is a passion of hers.

Over the years, Amanda explored many career options, becoming a certified Emergency Medical Technician and ultimatey landing a consultant role in the world of software. This past August she married the love of her life, and moved to the North Shore where they plan more little lacrosse players.
