Amy (Kosiewski) Richard

2012 Inductee - 1994 Graduate 

Amy (Kosiewski) Richard was one of the most talented players in the history of Fitchburg State field hockey, renowed for her speed, stick-work, passing and powerful shots on goal. Before entering Fitchburg State, she had set the record at her high school for most goals scored, assists and points in a single season and all-time career.

At the conclusion of her collegiate career, Amy held the field hockey record for single season assists (14) and points (60) and all-time career goals (36), assists (33) and points (105), a feat accomplished in just three years. She was the Fitchburg State Field Hockey Most Valualbe Player in the 1992 and 1993 seasons, the MASCAC Field Hockey Player of the Year in 1993 and the Fitchburg State Athlete of the Year in 1994.

After graduating with a degree in accounting, Amy worked for a world-wide transportation company as a customer service representative and eventually business office manager. In 1998, she married local musician Brian Richard. They have three children; a daughter Kamryn, 12, and sons Jacob, 9, and Brandon, 5. Amy is currently the field hockey coach for the Hawthorne Brook Middle School in Townsend, where her daughter plays field hockey. Amy was inducted into the Nashoba Regional High School Hall of Fame this past June in recognition of her success in field hockey, basketball and teack and field. She continues to enjoy playing field hockey, tennis and golf.
