Christina M. (Charron) Lindsey

2014 Inductee - 2006 Graduate

Christina M. (Charron) Lindsey, a 2006 graduate of Fitchburg State University and Grafton native, was a member of the field hockey team for all four years as a student. Christina was an exceptional goalkeeper, still holding the all-time career record for games played as goaltender. She also holds the all-time career record for wins and is second in career saves. She holds the all-time single season goaltender record for wins and is in the top ten for saves. Christina was team captain for two years and was recognized as the 2006 Student Government Association Female Athlete of the Year and 2006 Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year. Christina was also named to the National Field Hockey Coaches association all-academic team for three years. She accomplished all this while being a type-1, insulin-dependent diabetic.

Christina's contributions to the university extended beyond her athletic abilities. While enrolled in the Leadership Academy and Honors Program, Christina worked hard to maintain her GPA while being a student athlete. She was involved in the Student Government Association and worked for the university's Athletic Office in the off-season as the scoreboard operator. She spent her 2005 spring semester studying abroad in Granada, Spain.

Upon graduating from Fitchburg State, Christina landed a job at Big Brothers Big Sisters in Worcester where she worked as a math specialist and paired underprivileged children with a "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" -someone who could meet with the child on a regular basis and serve as a positive role model.

It was at this time that Christina realized she wanted to have a bigger role in the lives of children and went back to school to earn her teaching certificate. Since then she has been employed as a full-time English teacher at Northbridge High School and had been recognized for her hard work as a classroom teacher. In May 2011, she obtained her Master's degree in secondary education.

Christina recently celebrated her four-year anniversary of meeting the love of her life, James, whom she married. This past April she gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Emma.
