Kris Theriault - 2001 Inductees

Perhaps the greatest all-around athlete in school history, Kris Theriault was exceptional on the gridiron for two years, and in track and field (javelin) all four years. His accomplishments in the javelin were exceptionally special, as he was an NCAA All-American in all four seasons at FSC. He finished in second place his freshman year (213-3) at the NCAA Championship, after having won the New England Division III, New England All-Division and MASCAC Championships. Theriault also led the football team with seven sacks his freshman year, while also compiling 61 tackles (15 tackles for a loss). In 1992-93, Theriault earned his second All-American distinction, finishing in seventh place in the NCAA Championship (202-7). He once again won both the New England Division III and MASCAC Championships, while leading the football team in sacks (4.5). He also set the school's punt record twice that year (71-yard effort, followed by a 72-yarder later in the year). For his sophomore-year efforts, Theriault was named FSC's Male Athlete of the Year.

Theriault's best finish in the NCAA Championships came junior year, when he set his athletic sights directly on track and field. With a school record toss of 236-6, Theriault became FSC's second National Champion in the javelin (Scot Haverty, 1977). Theriault won the New England Division III and MASCAC Championships for the third of four-straight seasons, while also taking home the New England All-Division title. Senior year brought Theriault's fourth and final MASCAC and New England Division III Championships, as well as his final All-American season. Though he finished in third place at the NCAA Championship, his throw of 242-6 during preliminary qualifying broke the NCAA Division III record. Named FSC Male Athlete of the Year for the second time during his career, Theriault also earned All-American honors from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
