Senior Marshall Miller (Greenfield, Mass./Greenfield) then worked the last two frames for Fitchburg State, registering four K's in the scoreless effort.

Senior Chris Smart (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) added a double, one run scored and two RBI on the evening, while senior Nick Rocheleau (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) finished with a pair of RBI.

Fitchburg State opened the contest with an early 1-0 lead after the first inning of play as Phelan drew a leadoff walk and later scored on an RBI single from senior Dave Alexander (Torrington, Conn./Torrington).
