2012: Appeared in 19 contest for Fitchburg State, including three appearances on the hill. Collected 16 hits, while hitting .381 with one double, ten runs scored and six RBI. On the mound, registered two K's over eight inning of work in limited action. Collected a season high three hits with one double, two runs scored and an RBI vs. Keene State (4/19), while going 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored vs. Anna Maria (3/20). 2011: Limited to just three games played for the Falcons due to season ending injury. Notched a 1-0 record on the mound with five K's in 12 innings pitched. Registered three strikeouts in complete game shutout victory vs. Endicott (3/13). Click here for season statistics.

2010:  Saw action in 12 games for the Falcons, including four appearances on the mound. Hit .286 with six hits, five runs scored and one RBI. Posted a 1-0 record on the hill, tossing 8.1 IP with a 3.24 ERA. Collected his first victory vs. McDaniel (3/16), throwing 3.0 IP, allowing two runs on four hits with three K's. High School: 2009 graduate of Killingly High School. Member of the baseball and basketball teams. Earned All-Conference first team honors in baseball, while collecting the team Coaches Award.

Personal: Born May 27, 1991 in Danielson, Conn. Son of Randy and Josetta Ortiz. Majoring in Middle School Education with a minor in Mathematics.
