Drury Named MASCAC Co-Rookie Of The Year

Ashburnham, Mass. native earns lone All-Conference honor for Falcons

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 30, 2014) – Freshman Steven Drury Jr. (Ashburnham, Mass.) was recently tabbed the MASCAC Co-Rookie Of The Year as the conference office released the All-Conference awards this afternoon.

Drury, a 2014 All-Conference first team selection as well, finished the regular season atop the conference in batting average (.455) and tied for third in RBI (26). He ranked first on the Falcons squad in several categories, including hits (55), runs scored (35), doubles (16), triples (9) and RBI (26), while posting an on-base percentage of .540 and slugging .769.

The Fitchburg State baseball team collected the fifth seed for the upcoming 2014 MASCAC Baseball Tournament and is set to square off against fourth-seeded Westfield State University tomorrow at 3 p.m.
