Drury Collects Three Weekly Honors

Ashburnham, Mass. native named MASCAC Player/Rookie of the Week

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 23, 2014) – Freshman Steve Drury Jr. (Ashburnham, Mass.) recently earned three weekly awards being tabbed the MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week, the MASCAC Rookie of the Week and the ECAC Player Week as announced by the respective conference Tuesday afternoon.

Drury batted 9-for-16 (.562) with a double, two triples, three walks, five runs scored and three RBI with a slugging percentage of .875 in a 3-2 week for the Falcons. The rookie outfielder connected on the the game-winning three-run triple in a 4-3 victory over MCLA, while adding a pair of hits in a series split with Worcester State and a pair of hits against Daniel Webster College.

Fitchburg State (21-12, 6-6 MASCAC) is back in action today as it host Eastern Nazarene College at 3:30 pm.
