Drury Collects NEIBA All-New England Honors

Ashburnham, Mass. native earns first team All-New England accolades 

FITCHBURG, Mass. (May 14, 2014) – The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) announced its Division III postseason award winners on Wednesday afternoon, as freshman Steven Drury, Jr. (Ashburnham, Mass.) was selected to the All-New England first team.  

A total of 51 players were recognized on the first, second and third teams, led by 13 selections from the Little East Conference and 10 from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

This season, Drury, Jr tore the cover off the ball as he led the MASCAC in average (.438), slugging (.742), on base percentage (.531) and triples (9) en route to co-conference Rookie of the Year accolades. He was also second in doubles (15) and runs scored (35), third in hits (56), tied for sixth in RBIs (27) and ninth with 11 swipes. Drury, Jr tops the NCAA Division III in three-baggers while his on base percentage is eighth, on-base percentage is 11th and hitting clip is 12th.

With his accolades, Drury is also in the running to be selected to play in the prestigious NEIBA All-Star game to be held at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass on June 1. Selections for these teams will be announced earlier next week.
