Green & Gold Drubbed by Eagles

Nashua, NH – Fitchburg State University (10-12) was defeated by Daniel Webster College (5-13), 13-3, in a non-conference baseball tilit on Thursday afternoon at Harvey Woods Field.

Sam Brown picked up a RBI double while Jake Dallaire added a run-scoring single for the Falcons (10-12). Fitchburg State plated their three runs in the sixth inning. 

Jared Maloney allowed two hits over five innings allowing no runs to pick up the victory. Kyle Brigham was 2 for 5 with three runs scored and a two-run single in the second, while Mike Pelletier doubled and added a two-run single.

Andrew Currie took the loss for the Green & Gold falling to 0-1 on the campaign.

After Brigham scored on a wild pitch in the first, DWC sent 10 men to the plate in the second, picking up five hits culminating with Quinn's round tripper. The Eagles sent another 10 men to the plate in the fourth, again combining for five hits with the big blow coming from Pelletier's two-run double.

Fitchburg State heads to Bridgewater State for a MASCAC doubleheader on Saturday beginning at Noon.The Eagles return to action on Sunday visiting Plymouth State for a pair beginning at 1:00 p.m.
