Falcons Tabbed for Three First Team All-Worcester Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. - The fifth annual Worcester Area Baseball All-Star team has been announced after a vote by sports information directors representing all ten Worcester area colleges and universities and Fitchburg State has three representatives on the first team.

Leading the pack was sophomore designated hitter Steven Drury Jr., who collects his second first team honor in as many years. The Leominster native was tied for the team-high with 13 RBI, while belting a team-leading three home runs on 23 hits total.

Junior catcher Brendan Cutler finished the regular season with a .277 average with 13 RBI and a team-high eight doubles to go along with a respectable .990 fielding percentage behind the dish with eight runners caught stealing.

Younger brother Kyle Cutler proved to be the ace of the staff as the sophomore right-hander led the Green & Gold in nearly every pitching statistic over the regular season. Logging a team-high 41 innings pitched over six starts, K. Cutler sported an impressive 1.09 ERA with four wins and only five earned runs, while striking out a team-leading 41 with three complete games.
