Ferrell Collects Pair Of MASCAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Plymouth, Mass. native earns first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman outfielder Brendan Ferrell (Plymouth, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon notches his first weekly accolade on the season after batting .455 (5-for-11) with a double, one run scored, one walk, two stolen bases and six RBI in a 2-1 week for Fitchburg State.

Hit 1-for-4, including his first collegiate hit as well as one RBI in a 5-0 victory against Salve Regina on Friday afternoon before going a combined 4-for-7 with a double, one run scored, one stolen base and five RBI in a double-header split with Curry College on Sunday.

The Fitchburg State baseball team (2-1, 0-0MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Newbury College to take on the Nighthawks for a non-conference tilt, starting at 3:00 PM.
