Framingham, Mass. - The Fitchburg State University baseball team dropped a 4-3 decision to the Rams of Framingham State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action today from Bowditch Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring in the top of the first as freshman Vincent Eramo (Shirley, Mass.) singled to left to plate classmate Brendan Ferrell (Plymouth, Mass.) for the 1-0 lead. Framingham State responded with three runs in their half of the first as junior Andrew Curtis (Dracut, Mass.) laced a two-run double to left before senior Matt Fogarty (Millis, Mass.) added a sacrifice fly to make the score 3-1.
The Falcons cut the deficit to 3-2 in the second frame with sophomore Nicholas Cordeau (Melrose, Mass.) collecting an RBI single to left center that scored junior Matthew Pingitore (Rutland, Mass.), but the Rams answered back in the bottom of the fourth when senior Kyle Lippert (Carlsbase, Calif.) singled to short to score freshman Gino DeSimone (Medford, Mass.) for the 4-2 advantage.
The Green and Gold continued to battle as junior Brennan Cuddahy (Leominster, Mass.) notched a run scoring single in the seventh to bring home fellow junior Joshua Macomber (Berkley, Mass.). Fitchburg State threatened in the top of the ninth when Macomber singled through the left side, but Rams hurler Kevin Serra (Marlborough, Mass.) retired the final two batters, resulting in the 4-3 final.
