May Named Third Team All-N.E. by ABCA/Rawlings  

 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State University senior first baseman Zachary May (Rochdale, Mass.) was named Third Team All-New England by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings for his performance during the 2021 season.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee. A total of 48 players from 20 different programs were recognized on the three teams.

May, who was also named the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference played in all 23 games for the Falcons. He batted .397 (31-for-78) with 24 runs scored, eight doubles, five home runs, and 23 RBI.

May led the MASCAC in home runs and RBI with eight multi-hit games, he also had three saves in six appearances for the Green and Gold.

The Falcons baseball team captured the schools first MASCAC Regular Season Title with a 7-3 conference record and were the #1 seed in the 2021 MASCAC Baseball Post-Season Tournament.
