Kevin Barnaby - Head Coach (Fifth Season; 71-73-3)

Kevin Barnaby enters his fifth season as head coach of the Fitchburg State University Baseball team in 2020. This past season, Barnaby led the Falcons all the to the MASCAC Baseball Post-Season Tournament Championship Game after the Falcons earned the second seed in the MASCAC Baseball Post-Season Tournament, finishing with an overall record of 26-16 and a 13-8 clip in conference play.

For the 2017-18 season, Kevin led the Falcons to an overall record of 13-17-1 and a 6-7-1 clip in MASCAC play, en-route to earning the fifth seed in the MASCAC Baseball post-season tournament.

During the 2016-17 campaign, Barnaby guided the Falcons to an overall record of 14-20-1 and a 7-7 mark in conference play, en-route to capturing the third seed in the MASCAC Baseball post-season tournament.

Barnaby enjoyed great success in his first season as Falcons' head coach in 2016. He guided Fitchburg State to an 18-20 overall record, a 10-4 mark in league play and the #3 seed in the conference tournament. At season's end, his peers chose him as the MASCAC Coach of the Year.

Prior to being named the program's 12th head coach, Kevin was a volunteer assistant baseball coach at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (NCAA DI) for two seasons. He worked primarily with the outfielders, and spearheaded the program's volunteering efforts. During his time there, team members read to numerous elementary classrooms, helped with the STEM Mentoring Program, harvested crops for Mill City Grows, and served dinner at Bread and Roses. 

Within the same time frame, Kevin spent two summers coaching in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). In 2014, he became the head coach of the FCBL's Wachusetts Dirt Dawgs. Under his guidance, the Dirt Dawgs' offense set three league records, as well as countless organizational records, including most wins (26). The Dirt Dawgs hit 69 home runs that summer in 55 games, shattering the previous record of 37 home runs.  

In 2012, Kevin served as hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for Fitchburg State University. Under his tutelage, five players hit over .300, including .374 for David Mason which was good enough for second in the conference. 

On the field, Barnaby played two years of collegiate baseball at Worcester State University, helping the Lancers capture a MASCAC title and qualify for an NCAA Regional playoff berth in his final season.

Kevin currently resides in Leominster, Mass. and  is the Director of Player Devlopment  for the Nor'Easters in Tewksbury, Mass.​
