MASCAC Football All-Conference Teams Announced

Watford named to MASCAC All-Conference 2nd team 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Junior defensive lineman Cyrick Watford (Meriden, Conn.) earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference honors as the 2017 MASCAC All-Conference Football teams were announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Watford earned his third MASCAC All-Conference selection of his career after ranking fourth on the team with 45 tackles on 19 solo stops and 26 assisted tackles to go along with 4.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, one fumble forced, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. In addition, Cyrick registered his first collegiate touchdown this past season, returning a fumble 83 yards for a TD in the Falcons 31-29 win over Bridgewater State on September 23. 2017.

The Fitchburg State football team recently concluded its 2017 campaign with an overall record of 3-7 and a 2-6 mark in conference play.
