Garvin Named MASCAC Football Player Of The Week

Canton, Mass. native receives first weekly honor of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior running back Sterlin Garvin (Canton, Mass./Canton was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Sunday evening.

The fourth-year Falcon rushed for a career-best 246 yards on 26 carries for an average of 9.5 yards per carry with touchdowns of two yards and 66 yards as well as hauling in two passes for 13 yards in a 33-12 setback to Western Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.

The Fitchburg State football team (1-7, 1-5 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as it travels to Plymouth State to take on the Panthers for a MASCAC tilt, starting at 12:00 PM.
