Jackson Named MASCAC Football Special Teams Player Of The Week

Worcester, Mass. native collect first weekly honor on the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman running back Robert Jackson (Worcester, Mass.) was tabbed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Special Teams Player Of The Week as announced by the conference office on Sunday evening.

The freshman running back earns his first weekly accolade after blocking two punts, while returning one of the blocked punts three yards and into the end zone for a touchdown as well as rushing for 56 yards on 13 carries in the Falcons 30-14 victory over Worcester State on Friday evening.

The Fitchburg State football team (2-7, 1-6 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as it hosts the Colonials of Western Connecticut State for a MASCAC bout, starting at 12:00 PM.
