Jacobs Named To 2011 Division III Senior Game

Stoughton, Mass. native joins list of 57 DIII athletes for senior game on November 19th

FITCHBURG, Mass. (November 1, 2011) – Senior Megan Jacobs (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) was recently selected to participate in the 2011 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game held on Saturday November 19th at Nichols College.

Jacobs joins a list of 57 Division III athletes after having a record breaking year for Fitchburg State field hockey team. Throughout her four-year career, Jacobs has smashed the Falcon record books, totaling 135 career points with 55 goals scored and 25 assists. The 2010 All-Conference forward started all 71 career games for Fitchburg State, tallying ten game-winning markers with 290 total shots.

This year, Jacobs posted a career season, continuing her dominance of the Little East Conference with a conference and personal best, 50 points. Jacobs strung together 22 goals and six assists, falling just short of the Falcons single season record of 25.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team concluded its 2011 campaign with an overall record of 8-9 and a 4-6 mark in the Little East.
