Linane Named LEC Rookie Of The Week

Portsmouth, N.H. native earns first weekly honor of the season 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper Brittany Linane was recently tabbed Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

The first year Falcon posted 11 saves with an 818 save percentage and a 2.00 goal against average in a 2-0 week for Fitchburg State. Linane stopped nine shots in a 1-0 shutout victory against Western Connecticut State to earn her first collegiate win in the cage before adding a pair of saves in the Green and Gold's 6-2 win against Salem State on Saturday afternoon.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team (8-8, 3-7 LEC) returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts the Hawks of Roger Williams University for a contest starting at 7 p.m.
