Richard Named LEC Rookie Of The Week
Leominster, Mass. native collects second weekly accolade of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman forward Molly Richard was recently selected Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The freshman forward helped led the Falcons to a 2-0 week, registering three points on one goal and one assist. Richard posted one helper in the Green and Gold's 1-0 win over Roger Williams University on Tuesday before adding one marker with the game-winning tally in Fitchburg State's 2-1 triumph against the Huskies of Southern Maine on Saturday as the Falcons clinched a spot in the upcoming LEC post-season tournament.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team (10-8, 4-7 LEC) returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to the top seeded Panthers of Plymouth State University for a contest starting at 6:30 p.m.
