Three Falcons Named To LEC All-Conference Teams
Richard, Luttazi and Gimenez collect post season honors for the Falcons
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Senior Julia Gimenez, classmate Kelly Luttazi and freshman Molly Richard were selected to the Little East Conference (LEC) All-Conference teams this season as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Richard led all Fitchburg State honorees after being named LEC Rookie of the Year. The first-year forward posted a team-leading 29 points on 12 markers and five assists as well as five game winning tallies. For her efforts Richard was also named to the All-Conference third team.
Luttazi earned LEC All-Conference second team honors after posting a team-best eight defensive saves for the Green and Gold, while anchoring a Fitchburg State defense that limited opponents to 1.60 goal per contest.
Gimienez joined Richard on the All-Conference third team, ranking second on the team with a career best 20 points on ten goals scored, including three game winners as well as recording her first two collegiate hat tricks this past season.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team recently concluded its 2015 campaign with an overall record of 11-9 and a 4-7 mark in conference play, while defeating the top seeded Panthers of Plymouth State, 1-0 in opening round action of the LEC field tournament.
