Field Hockey Names Five To National Academic Squad
Richard, Duff, Gallagher, Pacheco and Polimeni earn ZAG/NFHCA DIII National Academic honors
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team recently named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/ NFHCA Team Academic Award for achieving a cumulative team Grade Point Average of 3.11 as well as having five members named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/ NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) earlier last week.
Freshmen Molly Richard, Erica Duff, Maggie Gallagher and Alanah Pacheco as well as sophomore Emma Polimeni each earned 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/ NFHCA Individual Academic Awards for achieving a grade point average of 3.3 or high during the 2015 fall semesterm.
Richard registered a GPA of 4.0 in the field of Accounting, while Duff (3.68), Pacheco (3.48), Gallagher (3.37) and Polimeni (3.32) achieved their cumulative GPA's in Nursing. With her 4.0 GPA, Richard was also named to the Scholars of Distinction for having a Grade Point Average of 3.90 or higher during the fall of 2015 semester.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year, while also recognizing teams who have cumulatively achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team concluded its 2015 campaign with an overall record of 11-9 and a 4-7 mark in the LEC.
