How It Happened

Fitchburg State took an early 1-0 advantage in the eighth minute of play as Richard blasted a shot inside the near post for her team-leading seventh score of the 2018 campaign. Fitchburg State nearly doubled their lead late in the first half when freshman Jordan Bartell (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) put a shot on frame, but Raider keeper Emily Foster () turned the shot aside to keep the score at 1-0 going into the intermission.

Following the break, Rivier knotted the score (1-1) at the 43:21 mark as freshman Maegan Sheehy (Sabattus, Maine/Oak Hill) collected a feed from junior Jaclyn Fraser (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington) and deposited the ball into the back of the cage for her sixth goal of the year.

The Falcons regained the lead roughly one minute late however when Richard received a feed from junior Aislinn DeHorsey (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) and proceeded to bury a shot into the right side of the cage for her second score of the contest, resulting in the 2-1 final.
