How It Happened

After seventy-nine minutes of scoreless action, freshman Carissa Letendre (Whitinsville, Mass.) propelled the Raiders to the 1-0 win with her second marker of the season. On the 26th penalty corner of the game, Rivier midfielder Lia Yohanan (Andover, NJ) blasted a shot from the top of the circle off the pads of Falcons goalkeeper Colleen Lamprey (Cherry Valley, Mass.). Letendre corralled the rebound and tucked the ball into the corner of the net for the hard-fought victory.

Lamprey starting in only her seventh career start, set the Falcons single-season record for saves in the game with 29. The first-year player was stellar in net all night long, keeping the game scoreless. Also big linchpins on defense were senior Olivia Grant (Portsmouth, NH) and freshman Sophia Morse (West Bridgewater, Mass.), while junior Chloe Gladu (North Reading, Mass.) had two defensive saves
