Falcons Blank Chargers In Non-Conference Action
Kerr and Kassel notch goals for Green and Gold
New London, N.H. – The Fitchburg State University Field Hockey team collected a 2-0 victory over the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer this afternoon in non-conference action from Veitch Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State nearly took the lead at the 8/:57 mark of the first quarter when junior Sydney Alto (Chelmsford, Mass.) put a shot on target, but junior Aleah Murph (Portland, Maine) cleared the ball away from the goal for the defensive save.
The Falcons dented the scoreboard at the 16:50 mark of the second quarter as senior Grace Kerr (Holliston, Mass.) received a feed from sophomore Riley O'Brien (Townsend, Mass.) and tucked the ball into the back of the cage for her third goal on the year for the 1-0 margin.
Following the break, Fitchburg State upped their lead at the 41:53 mark with freshman Lena Kassel (Stuttgart, Germany) burying a shot inside the near post for her team-leading 12th score of the season.
The Chargers threatened at the 56:54 mark when Murph and senior Aoife Daly (Harwich, Mass.) registered back-to-back shots, but Falcons goaltender Jenna Morse (Leominster, Mass.) denied both shot, resulting in the 2-0 final
