Bell Named to D3Hoops.com and NABC All-Northeast Region Second Team

FITCHBURG, Mass. - The 2015-16 D3hoops.com All-Region teams and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Region teams have been announced. Jaleel Bell of Fitchburg State has been named to both the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region Second Team and NABC All-Northeast Region Second Team.

Bell, a junior from Dorchester, Mass., helped lead the Falcons to the top seed in the MASCAC Tournament and a share of the MASCAC Regular Season Title. He finished second in the conference in points per game (17) and steals (46) while also being third in free-throw percentage (78.8). During the regular season, he was named the MASCAC Player of the Week three times. This is his first time voted as a member of the All-Conference team.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, who were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. There were 776 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.

It's the 15th season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams.

The regional Rookie of the Year award honors the top freshman in each region, while D3hoops.com also names a regional Coach of the Year.

Regions that have fewer than 40 Division III teams have two teams. The Northeast, which is nearly twice that size, has four teams, while all other regions have three teams.
