Allen Named MASCAC Men’s Basketball Rookie Of The Week

East Longmeadow, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman guard Anthony Allen (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

Allen earns his first weekly accolade on the season after averaging nine points, two rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Falcons. The first-year Falcons posted two rebounds and one assist in a 79-62 setback to Wesleyan University on Saturday before adding a career-best 18 points, two caroms and three steals in an 80-78 triumph over Thomas College on Sunday.

The Fitchburg State men's basketball team (4-7, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Brandeis University for a non-conference tilt, starting at 6:00 P.M.
