Sharp Named MASCAC Men’s Basketball Rookie Of The Week

Townsend, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade on the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman Keegan Sharp (Townsend, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The first-year Falcon averaged 14 points and eight rebounds, while shooting 73% (19-for-26) from the field in three contests for the Green and Gold. Sharp netted seven points, five rebounds and one assist in a 78-55 setback to Williams College on Monday before adding a double-double of 19 points and ten caroms as well as one steal and two blocks in an 83-80 loss to Regis on Wednesday.

Keegan concluded the week with 16 points and nine rebounds in a 79-61 triumph over conference foe Salem State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State men's basketball team (7-7, 1-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as they travel to MCLA to take on the Trailblazers for a MASCAC matchup, starting at 7:30 PM.
