Monvilus Selected MASCAC Men’s Basketball Rookie Of The Week

Coral Springs, Fla. native nets first weekly honor of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman guard Kerns Monvilus Coral Springs, Fla.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first year Falcon earns his first weekly accolade on the year after averaging points, 6.5 rebounds, two assists, 1.5 steals and one block per contest over two games for the Green and Gold. Monvilus posted a team best 22 points, seven caroms, two assists and three steals in an 85-79 setback to SUNY Delhi on Thursday before adding 12 points, six boards, two assists and two blocks in a 79-61 loss to Salem State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Men's Basketball Team returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Worcester State to take on the Lancers in MASCAC action, starting at 7:30 PM.
