In the first period, Fitchburg State continued its first frame dominance, posting a trio of scores for an early 3-0 lead at the break. Junior Cory Callen (Annadale, N.J./Oswego State) opened the Falcons scoring at 5:12 of the first period, taking a feed from classmate Travis Bertolotti (Miller Place,N.Y./New York Bobcats) and senior Billy Pescosolido (Framingham, Mass./Walpole Express) for his first score of the game.

Over the final period, Framingham State erased the Falcons shot at a shutout as freshman Peter Baldwin (Pot Williams, Nova Scotia/Amherst Ramblers) collected his first collegiate goal off senior captain John Sheehan's (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) assist.

Fitchburg State received a solid offensive from Trevor Lawler, who paced the Falcons' outburst with three points, including the game-winning marker at 6:27 of the first period. Bertolotti was also strong in the Falcons first conference victory with three assists, while Cory Callen added two scores on the night.

In the crease, senior Robert Vorse (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) maintained his elite MASCAC presence, stopping 32 of the Rams 33 shots.
