Caveney Collects USCHO All-American Honors

Fitchburg, Mass. native named to All-American second team

FITCHBURG, Mass. (March 18, 2013) – Senior forward Joseph Caveney (Fitchburg, Mass./New England Jr. Huskies) collects his first All-American honor after being named to the USCHO Division III East All-American second team this past week.

This year, Caveney witnessed a breakout season for the Falcons ice hockey squad, leading both the team and league in scoring with 47 points on 17 markers and 30 assists. The senior forward also received national accolades, ranking first in scoring among all division three schools with a 1.74 points per contest average.

Over his 42 game career, Caveney totaled 68 points on 26 markers and 42 assists, while also posting 14 power-play tallies and three game winning goals.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team concluded the 2012-13 campaign with an overall record of 11-14-2 and a 9-8-1 mark in the MASCAC.
