Saari Tabbed MASCAC Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week
Cape Elizabeth, Maine native earns third weekly accolade of the year
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore goalkeeper Kirby Saari was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Saari picks up his third weekly honor of the season after posting a 0.00 goals against average and a 1.000 save percentage, while stopping all 20 shots he faced en-route to earning his first collegiate shutout in a 4-0 win over Framingham State on Thursday evening.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (10-10-1, 7-6-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it hosts the Lancers of Worcester State University for a contest starting at 7 p.m.
