Warila Selected MASCAC Ice Hockey Player Of The Week

Shirley, Mass. native picks up first weekly accolade of the year

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore forward Tyler Warila (Shirley, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Warila collects his first weekly honor of the season after netting eight points on four goals and four assists in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. The second-year forward posted three points on two markers and one helper in a 4-1 win over Stonehill College in opening round action of the inaugural Steve Hoar Memorial Invite on Saturday before notching two goals and three helpers for five points in an 8-3 win over Becker College in the championship game on Sunday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (6-2-1, 2-1-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it travels to Westfield State University to take on the Owls for a contest starting at 7:35 P.M.
