Salem, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University ice hockey team skated to a 0-0 overtime with the Vikings of Salem State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this afternoon at the Rockett Arena.

How It Happened

Salem State controlled the puck over the first two periods play, totaling 29 shots on frame, but Fitchburg State goaltender Kirby Saari (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) stood strong, turning aside all 29 of the Vikings shots.

Scoring chances were limited throughout the third period and overtime as neither team was able to capitalize over the final 25 minutes of the contest, with Salem State netminder Jason Pucciarelli (Newmarket, Ont.) matching Saari save for save, resulting in the 0-0 overtime stalemate.
