Figi Named MASCAC Ice Hockey Rookie Of The Week

Kloten, Switzerland native earns fourth weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman forward Sascha Figi (Kloten, Switzerland) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon picks up his fourth weekly accolade of the year after collecting five points on two goals and three assists in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Figi registered an assist in a 6-3 win over UMass Dartmouth on Thursday before adding two goals and two helpers in a 7-5 triumph against Plymouth State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (12-6-3, 7-4-3 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as it hosts the Rams of Framingham State University for a contest starting at 5:00 P.M.
