Figi Earns Pair Of MASCAC Weekly Accolades

Kloten, Switzerland native picks up fifth weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman Sascha Figi (Kloten, Switzerland) was recently selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon totaled four points on three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Figi netted one score, including the game-winner as well as an assist in a 3-2 win over Salem State on Thursday before adding two markers in a 10-4 triumph against Westfield State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (15-6-3, 10-4-3 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as is hosts the Lancers of Worcester State for a contest starting at 7:00 P.M.
