McGrath Selected MASCAC Ice Hockey Goaltender Of The Week

Worcester, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior goaltender Brian McGrath (Worcester, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The third-year netminder receives his first weekly honor on the year after posting 29 saves with a 1.00 goals against average and a .967 save percentage in the Falcons 3-1, season opening victory over New England College on Friday evening.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (1-0-0, 0-0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it hosts the Panthers of Plymouth State University for a MASCAC tilt, starting at 7:00 PM.
