Framingham, Mass. The Fitchburg State ice hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Rams of Framingham State University this evening in Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Loring Arena.

Framingham State opened the scoring midway through the first period as junior Walker Smith Inver Grove Heights, IL) settled a feed from sophomore Bobby Bernier (Allen, Tex.) and found the back of the net for his first tally on the season for the 1-0 margin,
In the middle stanza, the Rams double the lead at the 13:49 mark when senior Cameron Lindsay (Coatesville, PA) netted his first score of the year off an assist from sophomore Sam Larkin (Douglas, MA) to make the score 2-0.
Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 2-1 3:48 into the third period with junior Michael Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI) ripping a shot inside the near post for his first marker of the 2023-24 campaign as sophomore Jeremy Maillet (Leominster, MA) and junior Jack Johansen (Milford, NH) assisted on the play.
