Hanratty Earns MASCAC Player Of The Week Honors

East Bridgewater, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (October 9, 2012) – Sophomore Aidan Hanratty (East Bridgewater, Mass./East Bridgewater) was recently tabbed the MASCAC’s Men’s Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday morning.

Hanratty collects his first weekly honor of the season after leading the Fitchburg State men’s soccer team to a solid 1-0-1 week. The sophomore net-minder totaled 16 saves throughout the week without allowing a goal in nearly 207 minutes of play. Hanratty kick started the week with a season-high 12 saves in a 0-0 double-overtime draw with 9-2-1 Salve Regina University, before posting four stops in a key 1-0 conference overtime victory vs. MCLA.

Hanratty and the Fitchburg State men’s soccer team (3-7-2, 1-3-0 MASCAC) will be back in action on Wednesday as it hosts Rivier College at 7 p.m.
