Abbett Selected MASCAC Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week

Jasper, Ind. native earns first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore goalkeeper Branton Abbett (Jasper, Ind./Jasper) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year Falcon collects his first weekly accolade of the season after stopping all eight shots he faced with a goals against average of 0.00 to earn the clean sheet for the Falcons in a 2-0 victory over the Buccaneers of Mass. Maritime Academy on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State men's soccer team (3-1, 1-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College for a non-conference matchup, starting at 4:00 PM.
