Jaramillo registers eight saves in conference setback

Framingham, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Rams of Framingham State this evening at the Maple Street Field in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action.

How It Happened

Framingham State took the lead at the 17:03 mark as junior Bryce Nardizzi (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) gathered a feed from classmate Isaac De Souza (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Acton-Boxborough) and found the back of the net for his sixth goal of the season for the 1-0 margin going into the break.

Following the intermission, the Rams double their advantage in the 65th minute of play when freshman Ibrahim Kyeyune (Kampala, Uganda/Waltham) received a pass from Nardizzi, who proceeded to deposit a shot into the lower right corner for his fourth tally on the year.

The hosts tacked on an insurance marker at the 72:46 mark as Nardizzi settled a through ball from De Souza and buried a shot inside the near post for his second goal of the contest, resulting in the 3-0 final.

Inside the Numbers

This evening's contest with mark the 41st meeting between the two squads on the soccer field with the Falcons currently 27-12-2 all-time when taking on the Rams.

Framingham State has won four of the last five matchups with Fitchburg State, including a 3-2 decision last season at Elliot Field.

Framingham State held an 18-6 margin in shots, while Fitchburg State finished with a 7-4 edge in corner kick.

Sophomore Shane Grenier (Gardner, Mass./Gardner) and junior Marckdonard Bastien (Worcester, Mass./Worcester North) finished the contest with two shots each for Fitchburg State.

In goal, sophomore Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass./Dracut) stopped eight shots for the Falcons in the setback, while counterpart Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass./Blackstone-Millville Regional) made two saves in the clean sheet for the Rams.
