Westfield, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's soccer team defeated the Owls of Westfield State University, 2-0 this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Alumni Field.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State grabbed the lead at the 12:08 mark of the first half as freshman forward Alexander Loyd (Kingston, Mass.) connected on his team-leading seventh goal on the season for the 1-0 advantage, going into the break.

Following the break, the Green and Gold doubled their advantage in the 62nd minute of action when senior Marckdonard Bastien (Worcester, Mass.) gathered a feed from Loyd and deposited the ball into the back of the net for his third marker of the year to make the score 2-0.
