Fitchburg State Names Pair To MASCAC All-Conference Team

Loyd selected MASCAC MSOC Rookie of the Year

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's soccer team named a pair of players to the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer All-Conference Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

​Freshman forward Alexander Loyd (Kingston, Mass.) led all Fitchburg State honorees after being named the 2019 MASCAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year as well as earning MASCAC All-Conference First Team honors, while senior back Nolan Brassard (Leominster, Mass.) collected MASCAC All-Conference Second Team accolades.

Loyd, notches his first two career conference accolades after leading the conference in goals scored with 11, while ranking second in points with 24 in addition to a pair of assists for the Green and Gold in 19 contests.

Brassard also earns his first MASCAC All-Conference honor after posting three points on one goal and one assist as well as one game winner, while starting all 19 games for the Falcons. The senior defender also anchored a Fitchburg State defense that held opponents to 2.15 goals per game.

The Fitchburg State men's soccer team recently concluded its 2019 campaign with an overall record of 7-10-2 and a 3-3-1 clip in the MASCAC, en-route to claiming the third seed in the 2019 MASCAC men's soccer post-season tournament.
