Men's Soccer Falls to Curry in Non-Conference Action

MILTON, MA: Fitchburg State men's soccer fell to Curry College this evening in non-conference action by a score of 2-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/19/23

- Score: Curry 2, Fitchburg 1

- Records: Curry (3-1-2), Fitchburg (2-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Falcons jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 40 seconds into the match. Gabriel Teixeira (Lunenburg, MA) put Fitchburg up one in the opening minute on an unassisted goal. 

- The Colonels were being shutout going into the 75th minute when Owen Bynum broke free to net his first goal of the season. Just two minutes later, Curry would take the lead after Adam Pforr found the back of the net for the third time of the year.

- Brendan Cunningham would get the win in goal for Curry (3-0-2). He only saw three shots during the game, saving two. Alexander Carvalho (N. Providence, RI) would be tagged with the loss (0-1). He saw eight shots on net, saving six.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Curry 19, Fitchburg 11.

-  Corner Kicks: Curry 10, Fitchburg 2.

-  Fouls: Curry 15, Fitchburg 14.
