Amello Earns MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Rookie Of The Week

Rowley, Mass. native picks up first weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman Brandon Amello (Rowley, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Amello earns his first weekly honor of the year after placing second overall in the 400 meter with a time of 51.80 seconds, while also finishing fourth in the 200 meter with a time of 23.64 seconds for the Falcons at the 2017-18 Reggie Poyau invite, hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday afternoon.

The Fitchburg State men's indoor track team returns to action this weekend as it competes in the 2017-18 Greater Boston Track Club Invitational, hosted by Harvard University on Sunday at 9:00 A.M.
