Fitchburg State Soars At DIII NE Championships

Stalters and Sattiewhite earn All-NE Honors for Falcons 

Middlebury, Vt. – The Fitchburg State men's indoor track and field team competed at the 2018 DIII New England Championships this weekend at the New Balance Track at the Virtue Field House, hosted by Middlebury College.

Junior Cameron Stalters (Norton, Mass.) led the way for the Falcons, earning All-New England Honors with a seventh place time of 8.64 Seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, while senior Ben Sattiewhite (Salem, Mass.) also collected All-New England Honors after finishing eighth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.91 meters.

In the 5000 meter, senior Brian Amaral (Tewksbury, Mass) turned in a 14th place time of 15:32.82, while classmate Jake Hastings (Phillipston, Mass.) added tenth place effort in the mile with time of 4:24.38.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Hastings, senior Mark Tonelli (Ayer, Mass.), junior Anthony Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass.) and freshman Jacob Movsessian (New Ipswich, N.H.) rounded out the top efforts for the Green and Gold over the weekend, posting a time 8:33.17 with a 14th place effort.

The Fitchburg State men's indoor track team returns to action on Saturday, March 3rd as select members complete in the Tufts Last Chance Qualifier Meet at 10:00 AM.
