MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Pre-Season Poll Announced

Falcons selected fourth with a total of three points

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's indoor track and field team was recently selected fourth in the 2018-19 MASCAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

The Bears of Bridgewater State were selected as the pre-season favorite to win the 2018-19 MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field crown after receiving two first place votes to amass a total of eight points to edge second place Westfield State's total of seven points.

Sitting in the third slot was Worcester State with a total of six points, which included the final first place ballot, while Fitchburg State was slated to finish in the fourth spot after collecting three points to round out the 2018-19 MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
