Falcons Soar at Grinaker Invite

Northampton, Mass.  – The Fitchburg State University men's indoor track & field team opened the 2022-23 season this afternoon at the Mary Grinaker Invitational hosted by Smith College.

How It Happened

Senior Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester, Mass.) paced the Falcons with a top score in the triple jump (13.18m) and a fourth-place finish in the long jump (6.15m).

Newcomer Liam Bourassa (Shirley, Mass.) was also solid for the Green and Gold, placing second in the high jump (1.80m), third in the shot put (11.88m), and fourth in the weight throw (9.87m).

In the 1000-meters, sophomore Cristian Bueno Campos (Lawrence, Mass.) finished in first place with a time of 2:56.51, while senior Nathaniel Felix (Worcester, Mass.) finished 6^th in the 200m (24.16) and fourth in the 60m (7.22).
